Maui Vacation Spots
You could literally visit any place in Maui and have the vacation of your life. However it does pay to do a little research before leaving so you can plan the Maui vacation spots that you really want to visit.
You may love the beaches (who doesn't!) or rainforests or volcanoes. Depending on your hopes for your vacation, there are a variety of spots you can visit in Maui. This article will touch the surface on some of the more spectacular locations for your Maui vacation.
West Maui
This is the major tourist location in Maui. There are many hotels, resorts and everything caters for tourists. Lahaina is a nice old town and you'll also find popular Kaanapali and Kapalua here.
East Maui
This is the quiet part of Maui. You'll find Hana here which is very isolated and a beautiful location. It is found on the eastern tip of Maui and is surrounded by beautiful lush rainforest. Taking the Highway to Hana is a great experience as you drive past natural beauty such as huge waterfalls right near the road and luscious green valleys all around.
In Upcountry Maui you'll find Kula which contains Maui’s only winery Tedeschi Vineyards. Pukalani and Makawao are fairly large communities here. Upcountry Maui is considered to be the foothills of Haleakala and is a rural residential location but great for a peaceful vacation.
South Maui
Southern Maui is growing fast and is quickly becoming another tourist hub. Kihei contains many resorts and great beaches for visitors. Wailea and Makena are other really nice areas in the south or Maui.
If you're after a great snorkeling spot then try Honolu'a Bay located in Maui's north. This marine reserve is considered one of Maui's best snorkeling spots. Makulei'a Bay is also another top snorkeling location with lots of colorful fish.
From north to south and east to west, Maui presents travelers with an astounding array of choices when it comes to vacation spots. You'll have a great time whichever you choose and if you are staying long enough, you can visit them all!
